Last night at Bible Study my pastor came with a great word. The scripture he referenced was 1Peter4:19
“Wherefore let them that suffer according to the will of God commit the keeping of their souls to him in well doing, as unto a faithful Creator.”
The message’s main focus was that no matter what you’re going through, it’s important that we’ve committed our souls to the Lord. He even broke down what it means when referring to your soul. Your soul is made up of your mind, will and emotions. Essentially all of that must be committed to the Lord. Not just the mind, not just the will and not just the emotions…the soul is the complete package. All three must align with God’s will and be committed to stay safe with God.
It all goes back to our focal scripture for the year: Romans12:1-2 presenting our bodies as holy and a reasonable sacrifice to God and not being transformed to this world, but being renewed in our minds. Being renewed in the mind starts in submitting all of who we are to God first.
The only way our souls can be safe, is if we’ve committed it to God and trust him with it; even in the midst of the troubles of life. We must come to know that “God’s grace is greater. Especially when the circumstance doesn’t change, but somehow we still end up where God wanted us at the begin with.”
